me: so can you imagine if ashley todd had been smart enough to not make the “b” on her cheek backwards?

ben (much more eloquently verbose): i don’t think it would’ve mattered much. her story was inconsistent. it certainly wouldn’t cost him the election.

me: well, let’s assume that if she was smart enough to not carve the “b” backwards, she’d be smart enough to keep her story straight. at the very least, it would’ve taken longer for her story to be debunked.

ben: but if she were that smart, she probably wouldn’t be a mccain supporter.

okay, i’m all for affordable alternatives. however, i refuse to even consider an insurance policy endorsed by billy mays. seriously, billy mays? the guy who wants to sell me orange glow and kaboom and oxy clean and mighty putty, among other things? you couldn’t maybe find a slightly more dignified spokesperson, like wilford brimley? hell, at least he already pawns medical supply services, so at least the name/product association is already in the right place.

pfft…billy mays…

and it’s me, the snoozing cow, the slumbering kitten, and rachel (the latter being, alas, only on the telly), all hanging out in the living room. rachel is talking about the danger of being overconfident in politics, and suddenly it occurs to me that i want to play kickball.

what? (more…)
