for the past 2 novembers, i’ve taken part in nanowrimo, or national novel writing month. and for the past 2 novembers, i’ve started novels that i never got around to finishing. to give you an idea of how sad this fact is, you should know that for the past 2 novembers, i’ve had plenty of free time…november 2006 i was unemployed, and november 2007 saw me working 12 hours a week as a page at the library.
so this year, i’m not even gonna bother with it. i already have more than enough incomplete novels with my name on them, and besides, the final months of 2008 have been and will continue to be redonkulously busy for yours truly. not even taking into consideration all the social goings-on, there’s also all of the work-type things i have to do, like finding creative ways to advertise the poetry workshop i’ll be teaching next year, and hosting our library’s participation in national gaming day, and hosting this month’s meeting of the sci-fi book club, and writing an article about the graphic novels of marjane satrapi for wcpl’s graphic novel newsletter, and…and…
yeah. sorry, nanowrimo. you are relegated to the proverbial back burner this year. maybe next year…
